Comprised of over twenty of this area's finest and most talented orchestra students (ages 13-18), the
JANESVILLE GOLDEN STRINGS was founded in 1987 by Thelma Wilcox to provide a challenging opportunity for string students to study and perform music that was not typically offered to conventional orchestra students.
A non-profit organization, the
JANESVILLE GOLEN STRINGS has developed a music scholarship for each of its members that is funded by the generous donations of its listeners. These scholarships are put to use by the students to enhance their love for music.
This group has endless enthusiasm that is sure to be contagious. Their unique "strolling" performance and interaction with their audience has proven to put a smile on even the most somber of faces. Sit back, relax, listen, sing, clap, whatever suits your fancy, by all means....
