Comprised of students (ages 14-18) from the Rock County area, the JANESVILLE GOLDEN STRINGS have been performing since 1987. This high energy, enthusiastic group, with their unique "strolling" technique, has performed at everything from weddings, private parties, nursing homes, and banquets to the United Nations and several foreign countries!

We invite you to become a part of this wonderful group of music loving students.



Membership Information

Although auditions are not required, each of the members are expected to completely memorize and rehearse all of the music. Memorization techniques are taught at rehearsals (one evening per week) and you will be amazed at how fast you will learn this exciting and challenging music. Members are required to purchase a uniform.

Performances

There are generally, approximately 10-15 performances each season, although we've been known to book more, (we try to limit our performing to the school year). Historically the GOLDEN STRINGS have gone on tour ever 2-3 years both in the United States and abroad. What fun!

Scholarship Opportunities

All of the generous donations given to the group for their performances and fundraisers goes directly to each of the members at the end of each season, in the form of a music scholarship. Each of the students puts the scholarship to good use to enhance their love of music. Equal shares are given to each student based on their attendance. Whether it be private lessons, music camp, instrument repair, or tickets to a concert, what a wonderful way to have fun performing while earning this wonderful scholarship opportunity!
